Founded in 2016 by designer Isabel Fernández Lanza, who graduated from the European School of Design and specialized in leather accessories by the Loewe Foundation. After a long experience in the fashion sector, she decided to create a brand more in line with her values of sustainability and respect for the artisans.
The brand´s innovation earned the award for the Best Accessory of the Year in 2019 by the design magazine Fuera de Serie from the newspaper, El Mundo.
Isalda is made for lovers of exclusive, timeless and ethically made accessories in Spain.

The impetus of this project was to dignify the artisan´s work. During my trips to Asia to develop ready-to-wear collections, I understood the great social value of our work. It was exciting to watch these local artisans work with traditional embroidery techniques on fabrics as delicate as silk.
I realized that it was not necessary to travel so far to find wonderful artisans with traditional know-how. Creating contemporary collections and contributing to the Spanish industrial ateliers has been my great motivation.
Since then, I have combined the management of Isalda with workshops in design schools, university classes on leather as a design material, and development of entrepreneurship programs with United Nations for artisans in Central America.
